VAL HALLA GOLF COURSE

2nd Assistant Superintendent/Assistant in Training (AIT)

If you have experience in turf management and want to be on the golf course year round, this position is what you have been looking for! Val Halla Golf Course is hiring for the position of 2nd Assistant Superintendent/Assistant In Training (AIT).

The right candidate will have experience in, and possess knowledge of golf course management; including but not limited to, turfgrass varieties, turfgrass fertility, plant protectant products and application, water management, irrigation system use and repair, agronomic practices and the proper use, selection and basic mechanical knowledge of maintenance equipment, as well as an understanding of the game of golf, the rules of golf and how golf course management impacts playability.

This is a full time, year-round position that falls under the Town of Cumberland’s Public Services. While the majority of hours worked will be on the golf course, this position requires that the employee be on call to plow with a 1-ton for all snow events. Peak Season (March 15th – December 1st ) 50-60 hrs./week and off Season (December 1st – March 15th ) 20 hrs/week (+20 hrs/week of banked comp. time).

Candidates must hold a valid State of Maine Drivers License.

Candidates should possess or have the ability to obtain a State of Maine Pesticide Applicators License.

Salary $45k-55k annually ($22-$27/hour) commensurate with experience.

-New 22" John Deere Cutting Unit. Would fit 3215/3225 F/W units. $750. Comes with used rear roller brush in very good condition.

FREE IMPERMEABLE GREENS COVERS The Country Club in Brookline, MA has 15-20 Layfield impermeable Greens Covers that they are offering for Free to anyone who is in need and can handle transportation. These are heavy covers and all in good condition. For reference 2 or 3 covers is a heavy load for a pickup truck. The club will help load.
