Facility Description:  Private 18 holes

Experience Desired: At least 3 years experience as golf course mechanic or related field      

Duties Description:  Golf Club of New England is seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic to oversee and maintain a broad spectrum of turf care equipment.

The equipment manager/mechanic will be responsible for a fleet of equipment from all three major golf course equipment suppliers.  We also have Club car carts as well as many other small pieces of Stihl and Honda equipment.

The equipment tech must possess good organizational and record keeping skills.

Must be able to perform moderate physical labor.

Must be able to communicate with superintendent and assistant superintendent on a daily basis.

Must be responsible for ordering parts and keeping track of inventory.

Must have computer skills

Proficiency in Express Dual 3000 and Angle Master 3000 grinding is preferred.

Has an understanding of reel grinding and mower setup and the effect on course conditions

Has the ability to establish preventative maintenance programs

Shop organization skills

Understanding of golf course equipment electronics and hydraulics

Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize

All other job related skills such as welding, fabricating, electrical will be taken into consideration

Compensation / Benefits:  $50-70K/year.  Paid time off, health, dental and vision insurance.  Bonus Potential.

Cape Arundel Golf Club  

2nd Assistant Superintendent 

Cape Arundel is a semi-private, 18-hole golf club located in Kennebunkport, Maine.  First opened in 1896 and re-designed by Walter Travis in 1921, Cape Arundel has undergone extensive restoration over the past several years.  Guided by Bruce Hepner, restoration work has included tee and bunker renovation with irrigation and drainage installation, in addition to building construction and renovation.  The golf course property also includes a 15-acre practice facility with 3 putting/ chipping greens and a 1-acre grass tee surface.   

Primary responsibilities will be fertilizer and chemical application along with irrigation maintenance and repair.  Other duties will include mowing, course set-up, and general property maintenance.          

Education Requirements 

Turf certificate or degree.    

Experience Requirements:   

Previous golf course experience required.       

Special Requirements 

Possess or be willing and able to obtain pesticide applicators license.

Cape Neddick Country Club

Position: 2nd Assistant Superintendent/Crew Foreman


Cape Neddick Country Club is looking to hire a 2nd Assistant Superintendent/Crew Foreman for the Maintenance Department.  This is a full time, 40 hours per week position with the potential for year round employment for the right individual.  The 2nd Assistant Superintendent/Crew Foreman will answer directly with the Golf Course Superintendent and work with the current 1st Assistant Superintendent in the daily tasks involved with managing the golf course grounds.  Duties will include mowing of greens, tees, fairways and rough, chemical applications, changing of pins, assisting in projects such as drainage, irrigation and small scale construction and supervising the other crew members on staff.  Experience working on golf courses is preferred but considerations will be made to candidates with supervisory experience from other fields of work.  The pay will be dependent on experience with a range of $15-18 per hour.

18 Hole Semi-Private Golf Club Year Round Position.  Position Available Starting March 1st 2019.      Sanford Country Club is looking for an Assistant Superintendent. The right candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual with the desire to learn within the industry.  The candidate must possess a positive attitude and a willingness to learn from those around him.  The candidate must have the ability to perform a wide variety of tasks with a keen eye for detail.  He will be responsible for the majority of fertilizing applications on Greens, Tees, Fairways, and rough.  Aside from daily maintenance task such as hand watering, irrigation repair, and course set-up; the right candidate will be an integral part of the management team with a focus on overseeing and training our hourly laborers. Weekend work is a must bi-weekly for course setup and overseeing of employee duties.  Compensation $31,200 annually.
