Martindale Country Club, located in Auburn, Maine is a privately owned, semi-private 18 hole facility. Martindale was established in 1921, has been the location of many state championships and is recognized as one of the premier competitive golfing clubs in Maine. The greens, tees and fairways are predominantly a bentgrass/poa mix.

Martindale Country Club is currently seeking an Assistant Superintendent who is looking to learn and develop skills in a competitive golf course environment. The Assistant Superintendent works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent in all aspects of course management. Responsibilities include plant nutrition and protection applications, irrigation scheduling and repair, course set up and grounds crew management. We are willing to train the right individual to become a proper fit in our operation.

Requires minimum Associates Degree or Certificate Education in Turfgrass Management. Applicant will need to hold a Maine State Applicators License within 90 days. Job Type: Full-time Salary: $33,000.00 to $35,000.00 /year

Position: Assistant Superintendent

18 Hole Semi-Private Golf Club Year Round Position.  Position Available Starting March 1st 2019.      Sanford Country Club is looking for an Assistant Superintendent. The right candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual with the desire to learn within the industry.  The candidate must possess a positive attitude and a willingness to learn from those around him.  The candidate must have the ability to perform a wide variety of tasks with a keen eye for detail.  He will be responsible for the majority of fertilizing applications on Greens, Tees, Fairways, and rough.  Aside from daily maintenance task such as hand watering, irrigation repair, and course set-up; the right candidate will be an integral part of the management team with a focus on overseeing and training our hourly laborers. Weekend work is a must bi-weekly for course setup and overseeing of employee duties.  Compensation $31,200 annually.

Province Lake Golf Course

Position/Title:  Superintendent of the Course


Facility Description:  Province Lake Golf was originally built in 1918 as a 9-hole course overlooking the shores of Province Lake. In 1988, the back nine was designed by Brian Silva and construction was completed that year. The course straddles the border of Maine and New Hampshire.   The 18 hole, par 71 course is serviced by a Toro automatic irrigation system and straddles the Maine and New Hampshire border.

Experience Desired:  Minimum 4 years of hands on experience working on a golf course, whether working as a groundskeeper, assistant Superintendent or Superintendent, with the knowledge and capability and desire to continuing learning.

Duties Description:  We are looking for a “hands on” Superintendent, experienced and able/willing to manage and support all aspects of the golf course maintenance, including the scheduling of crew, training of staff, scheduling of pesticide applications, record keeping, etc. We prefer that candidates have experience with Toro irrigation systems.  The most important qualities for a successful candidate are a strong work ethic, commitment to the future of the course, integrity, and a positive and healthy attitude.

Special Skills:  The candidate should have or be willing to obtain the necessary Maine and New Hampshire pesticide licenses.

Compensation:  Salary to be commensurate with experience. There will be paid vacation and we will consider on-site housing as part of the compensation package for the right candidate. Compensation will also include dues to relevant professional associations, and golfing privileges.   Year round or seasonal employment will be considered.

Date Available:  Now.   Interviews will be scheduled with hope to have the successful candidate on staff well before the start of the 2019 season.
