Resurrection Golf is seeking a qualified and experienced Superintendent for Old Marsh Country Club in Wells, ME. Responsible for operation of the golf course operation and maintenance Old Marsh Country Club. The responsibilities include: turf grass/plant material maintenance programs, property/asset management, personnel management, budget/forecasting, financial management, member relations, scheduling/maintenance of irrigation systems, pesticide applications, related recordings, and compliance of regulatory issues. Works to create an environment where staff is involved and enthusiastic, with open communications and respect for themselves, members, guests and the property.


Basic Functions:

  • Responsible for all phases of Golf Maintenance and Agronomic operations, cost control, and personnel.
  • Works closely with, advises, and coordinates with the Head Golf Professional and/or Director of Operations on any issues related to golf course and facilities maintenance at Old Marsh Country Club.
  • Directs and participates in the construction and maintenance of the grounds.
  • Designs landscape plans for facility grounds and implements the plan.
  • Administers and enforces all Club rules, regulations and policies for staff.
  • Supports and assists with membership seminars and orientations and other programs as directed.
  • Works closely with the DOO of Resurrection Golf to operate the Golf Course in a fiscally responsible and professional manner.
  • Must be able to work independently and be a self-starting problem solver.

Primary Duties 

  • Oversees the care and maintenance of the turf, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees and wetlands on the facility grounds.
  • Directly supervises and works with the staff at Old Marsh to perform all described work functions.
  • Stays within budgetary plan as directed by the DOO of Resurrection Golf. Gives input in the development of budgetary planning.
  • Directs and assists the staff on the planting of new vegetation, the replacement, spraying, pruning and trimming of trees and shrubs, the preparation of soil plant beds for aesthetically pleasing arrangements and tending to high stress areas.
  • Provides detailed annual plan for the various property levels and the designated landscaping areas. Includes rotational design to provide facility with fresh, eye-catching, interesting and pleasant atmosphere.
  • Manages an aggressive water usage tracking plan and irrigation systems and provides monthly reporting on retaining ponds, wells and other water source usage.
  • Recruits, supervises and retains maintenance staff. Conducts employee performance evaluations at a minimum of once annually and exercises disciplinary action as needed throughout the course of the year.
  • Provides technical, operational and safety training for employees to ensure that staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.
  • Oversees subordinates in proper and safe operation and maintenance of mechanical and power equipment. Plans and budgets for additional or replacement capital equipment at Old Marsh Country Club.
  • Performs the application and recording of chemical applications (fertilizers and pesticides) on the Old Marsh golf course grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. 
  • Maintains proper licensing as required by the State and Federal governments.
  • Supervises and controls all maintenance expenses associated with Golf Course Operations, including payroll, supplies, chemicals and fertilizers.
  • Helps to develop annual operating budget and plans for maintenance and capital improvement projects.
  • Maintains records and completes required reporting. Order parts, supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Schedules maintenance practices around member play and outings to maximize efficiency and minimize disruption to members.
  • Coordinates snow removal and winter maintenance activities when necessary.

Experience Desired: At least 3 years experience as golf course mechanic or related field      

Duties Description:  Golf Club of New England is seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic to oversee and maintain a broad spectrum of turf care equipment.

The equipment manager/mechanic will be responsible for a fleet of equipment from all three major golf course equipment suppliers.  We also have Club car carts as well as many other small pieces of Stihl and Honda equipment.

The equipment tech must possess good organizational and record keeping skills.

Must be able to perform moderate physical labor.

Must be able to communicate with superintendent and assistant superintendent on a daily basis.

Must be responsible for ordering parts and keeping track of inventory.

Must have computer skills

Proficiency in Express Dual 3000 and Angle Master 3000 grinding is preferred.

Has an understanding of reel grinding and mower setup and the effect on course conditions

Has the ability to establish preventative maintenance programs

Shop organization skills

Understanding of golf course equipment electronics and hydraulics

Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize

Cape Arundel Golf Club  

2nd Assistant Superintendent 

Cape Arundel is a semi-private, 18-hole golf club located in Kennebunkport, Maine.  First opened in 1896 and re-designed by Walter Travis in 1921, Cape Arundel has undergone extensive restoration over the past several years.  Guided by Bruce Hepner, restoration work has included tee and bunker renovation with irrigation and drainage installation, in addition to building construction and renovation.  The golf course property also includes a 15-acre practice facility with 3 putting/ chipping greens and a 1-acre grass tee surface.   

Primary responsibilities will be fertilizer and chemical application along with irrigation maintenance and repair.  Other duties will include mowing, course set-up, and general property maintenance.

Turf certificate or degree.    

Experience Requirements:   

Previous golf course experience required.       

Special Requirements 

Possess or be willing and able to obtain pesticide applicators license.

Cape Neddick Country Club

Position: 2nd Assistant Superintendent/Crew Foreman


Cape Neddick Country Club is looking to hire a 2nd Assistant Superintendent/Crew Foreman for the Maintenance Department.  This is a full time, 40 hours per week position with the potential for year round employment for the right individual.  The 2nd Assistant Superintendent/Crew Foreman will answer directly with the Golf Course Superintendent and work with the current 1st Assistant Superintendent in the daily tasks involved with managing the golf course grounds.  Duties will include mowing of greens, tees, fairways and rough, chemical applications, changing of pins, assisting in projects such as drainage, irrigation and small scale construction and supervising the other crew members on staff.  Experience working on golf courses is preferred but considerations will be made to candidates with supervisory experience from other fields of work.  The pay will be dependent on experience with a range of $15-18 per hour.
