Greg Holder, as president, shall be a member ex-officio of all standing committees without voting privileges except where a tie vote exists.

 

SCHOLARSHIPS 


The Maine Golf Course Supt. Assoc. by means of a charitable and educational trust is offering scholarships for those individuals who are deserving, are active in turf management, and plan to continue their education. If in the opinion of the Supt. Assoc. Scholarship Committee, a candidate is worthy and can meet the requirements of the scholarship application, the Committee shall invite the applicant to proceed with his application. the application shall then be judged with all other applications and a selection of a recipient will be made by the Scholarship Committee. The requirements for nomination are as follows:
  • A candidate must show an active interest in turf management.
  • A candidate must be enrolled in a turf management program or currently accepted into one.
  • A candidate must be a graduate of an accredited secondary school.
  • A candidate must be outstanding in character, integrity and leadership as shown by his participation in extracurricular activities in his school or community.
All candidates for this scholarship must submit the following information, with a completed application.
  • A transcript from his secondary school and/or other schools attended since graduation from same.
  • A letter of recommendation from a golf course superintendent or head of some other turf program.
